Harvest Food Collection

We collected food items for Swindon Food Collective for our Harvest .  This year everyone at Colebrook Junior School kindly donated 95 Kg of food. Thank you everyone!

In our Harvest Celebration, two teams competed against each other to triumph in the Colebrook Food Quiz of the year.  Why not see how you do?

Upper School Astronaut Talk

This term, the Year 5 and 6s are learning all about Space. They were lucky enough to take a trip to The Deanery in Wichelstowe to meet Steve Swanson, a real Astronaut!!! Steve spoke to them about his experiences on the International Space Station and the children were given time to ask him questions about his time in Space.

One of our Y5s asked Steve,"What did you enjoy the most about being in Space?" Steve's answer was "play!" Due to the lack of gravity, they float around the Space Station and play all sorts of games - when they're not working hard, of course!

Another child asked, "What do you eat in Space?" Steve told us that they have a variety of things to eat, but none of them are very tasty because they are mostly powdered and come in pouches.

Young Carers Awareness Day

Young Carers Awareness Day raises awareness of the challenges faced by young carers and campaigns for greater support for them. It's an annual event led by Carers Trust.

On 31st January, we held a "Wacky Hair / Hat Day" to raise money to support our young carers. Mrs McIntyre also held an event in the hall for our young carers and their families where they had the opportunity to talk, play games and eat a range of delicious cakes and cookies that the young carers had baked that morning. It was a very special afternoon and we are very proud of our young carers and all they do to support their families.
