Morfa Bay Monday

Monday Day 1

After the usual 3 hour long chorus of 'Are we there yet?', the children (and staff) were happy to arrive at Morfa Bay.

Children listened well to the introductions made by the centre staff and were organised into their three activity groups. This afternoon, children took part in the High Ropes, Mountain Biking and the The Zip Line activities.

The children were brave and showed the Colebrook spirit, dancing and doing star jumps on the highest beam of the High Ropes course, superman posing as they descended the Zip Line and picking themselves up and dusting themselves off after a few crashes on the mountain bike course!

The children ate heartily at dinner time and worked it all off with an exhausting coastal walk.

The time is now 23.20 and all is looking well. A few visits to the dorms and a couple of reminders of how much energy the children will need to save for the following days activities, seem to have done the job. Let's just hope they all sleep in as well!

Who are we kidding!

Morfa Bay Quote of the Day:

On being told to go back to dorms and get into their PJs before hot chocoloate, one child turned pale and spoke to his friend:

"Oh no, I go to bed in my pants, does that mean I need to turn up in my pants?"

Morning Update

The children are still in their dorms and all is peaceful. Long may it last. The boys are getting ahead of the game and have already spent their time well, tidying up and organising their room before the first room inspection.

So parents, when we said we would be accepting of the children bringing 'some' sweets along for the inevitable midnight feast, what we didn't expect to see was the 'tuck shop' set up in the girls dorm! It was like a scene from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, albeit a very organised one :)
