Morfa Bay Tuesday

Another really successful day! The children really 'upped their game' today and STAR qualities underpinned every activity.

Strive: Every child was able to push themselves to their limits in the climbing and all children strived to reach the top of the climbing wall.

Team: The teamwork shown during caving saw children supporting each other in the deep, dark depths! There were tight squeezes and cold muddy floors slithered upon. All children gave words of encouragement to those who needed it.

Ambition: Children set their targets high on the ropes course! (Excuse the poor pun). There were tears and fears overcome, a few succumbed to the dreaded 'Jelly leg syndrome', but drove themselves onwards to reach their goal of the first beam.

Reflect: At the end of each day, over a cup of hot chocolate, all members of the group nominate one individual to recieve a raffle ticket. We choose somebody who stood out for us during the day, be it for their bravery, level of support, being a friend or even just making us smile when we needed it. The children have really taken to this well and this evening the nominations were both thoughful and heart warming.

Morfa Bay Quote of the Day:

Walking back up the dreaded Pendine Hill, after a lovely evening on the beach. We stopped at a little Cul de Sac called 'Ocean View'.

One Colebrook child remarked:

"Hey, I know why this is called Ocean View because you can see the Ocean from here"

Morning Update

The combination of hot weather and hard work seems to have worked its magic last night ( and its only day 2!). The children were all in bed at 10pm and it didn't take them long to fall asleep. The cacophany of snores coming from the boys dorm was music to our ears. The girls although not snoring, were also quick to get some shut eye.

Mr Booth-Howe has just returned from giving the boys a morning wake up call and was amazed to find some of the children still in bed and asleep!

Today is a little cooler but the weather is still on our side.

I will try to update the Wednesday page around midday today with some pictures.
