Morfa Bay Day 3

After realising that getting to sleep earlier would be better preparation for an action-packed day, the children went to sleep in more of a hurry last night and woke up feeling much more refreshed - Who knew the teachers were right all along?!

We had breakfast and then got ready for activities. There was some excellent scores in archery for Miss Jenkins' group with most of them scoring with every arrow! Miss Coffey's group set off caving and they all made it to the second chamber, with most of them also sliding through to the third. Mr Souch's group enjoyed bush craft, which is very similar to Forest School. They learned how to light a fire, make a shelter and explore 'Edible and Deadible' plants.

Lunch was sandwiches and hot dogs and was enjoyed by all!

The afternoon activities began with orienteering, mud assault course and woodland scramble, which meant round 2 of the children (and staff) squeezing themselves into wetsuits.

Later on, Miss Jenkins and Mrs McIntyre's groups went along to bush craft where they tried wild garlic, made it into garlic bread and found out all about the main things you would need to survive in the wild. Mr Souch and Miss Coffey's groups worked together in the team building activity. The children had to stand on long "ski's" and step in time with each other and negotiate their team across various obstacles with a limited number of planks and resources.

We are taking a stroll down to the sea again tonight so that the children can buy an ice-cream and relax on the beach.
