Tuesday 10th June
We had a succesful first night with almost all the children asleep within half an hour of lights out which is very good going! They slept well and were ready and raring to go for their first full day of activities which included mountain biking, zip wire and archery to name a few.
As group leaders we are all so proud of the way the children are pushing themselves in all the activities especially those who have conquered their fear of heights and learned to ride a bike. We have also been impressed, but not surprised, at the way the children are supporting each other and showing such a mature attitude when people are struggling.
Dinner was enjoyed by all and we are now having a chilled evening on site while the other schools are off getting ice cream at the beach, which we will get to enjoy tomorrow.
Every evening we gather in "The Crow's Nest" to give the children a chance to reflect on their day. They make nominations for people who have impressed them or helped them during the day. All nominations are collected in a pot and we will hold a raffle on our return journey with prizes from the Morfa Bay shop - oooooh!
We are looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings!
