Morfa Bay 2026!
We arrived safely at Morfa Bay after a great trip to the site. The children behaved impeccably on the coach and treated us to a sing-song to Rob the driver’s playlist.
The closer we got to the site, the more the sun shone, not usually what we expect when we visit Wales, but a welcome surprise!
A fantastic start to our trip with 3 activities in the sun. Our groups have been condensed from 4 to 3 so Mrs Willis joined Mrs Anderson’s group for the new activity, ‘Team Challenge’. This involved a lot of working together, which the group definitely improved at with time. They had to move planks of wood to get cross ‘lava’, use them as skis to travel, angle guttering to get a ping pong ball into a bucket and other team-building activities.
Caldey, Miss Kearney’s group, jumped straight into Archery and showed up the instructors with their skills, with some even hitting bullseyes.
Miss Jenkins’ group, Angle, started with Climbing, and the children were brilliant.
Every child gave it a go and most flew to the top of the wall, wanting to be timed so they could race each other. Finley and Ayda scored the fastest times but they were all very competitive and supportive of each other.
After dinner this evening, we are off on our hike, where the children will have beautiful views over-looking Pendine Sands. Hopefully we’ll tire them out before bedtime so that they (and we!) get a decent night sleep before our full-on day tomorrow.
We are so impressed by all the children on the hike this evening. No moaning or 'how long left' - they absolutely smashed it and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it, especially the views.
Hot chocolate time now, then reflection before bed. We all meet in 'The Crow's Nest', a hall space at the site, to make nominations for people who have shown courage and kindness. All nominations get put into a bag and at the end of week we hold a raffle with prizes from the Morfa Bay Shop.
Wish us luck for our first night!
