Wednesday Update

The children were fantastic last night and were all fast asleep within 20 minutes of lights out. They all slept in much later too, and only came out of their dorms ready for breakfast.

The weather is still being kind to us, meaning we have been able to crack on with activities.

Group Caldey started with Mountain Biking with one child learning to ride a bike for the first time - she showed so much determination, and with the help of Miss Kearney, absolutely smashed it. The children enjoyed flying round the track and showed great control.

Amroth wowed their instructor with their knowledge in Bushcraft, which is Morfa Bay's version of Forest School. They made their own flatbread, built protective shelters and made their own mini fires with some cotton wool and a ferrisium rod.

Angle had a great session of Archery, with Austin being crowned Top Archer with a great score of 73 out of 90.

After lunch, Amroth and Angle took to the tower for High Ropes and Zipline, while Caldey prepared to get muddy on the assault course. Lots of the children challenged themselves on the zipline and loved it. Every child in Caldey threw themself into the assault course, quite literally, and were covered in mud from head to toe.

Moving on to the final activities of the day, it was Amroth's turn to try out Mountain Biking and the children were very excited. They all did so well, and again, one child in the group who was a novice on a bike, managed lap after lap around the field and told the group how proud she was of herself, which was so lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk down to the beach this evening for a run around and ice cream. The ice creams were whoppers and the children were very pleased with them.

Both the staff at the ice cream parlour and the Morfa Bay instructors have commented today on how polite and well-behaved our children are. We are so proud of them and how they are conducting themselves.
