Wednesday 11th June

A beautiful, sunny day here at Morfa Bay and another great day of activities for us all. The sunshine was especially welcomed by those groups who had sea activities and rocky shore studies as they got to enjoy their time at the beach. We have been reminding the children to wear suncream, many times throughout the day, whether they have listened though is another story...

The day started with room inspections and it's fair to say that the girls smashed the boys, with a score of 9/10 with the boys only scoring 6/10. The girls welcomed us with a harmonious "Welcome to our crib" which did get them off to a good start. We will be revisiting both dorms tomorrow to re-score.

All the children have been brilliant and we have been impressed by their behaviour, but a number of children have really  stood out for their care and support towards other children who have been nervous during activities.

Tonight we enjoyed a BBQ, a night early due to a threat of bad weather tomorrow. The food was delicious and we were lucky that none of our children had their food stolen by a seagull - we can't say the same for the children from the other school.

We are now off on a walk down to the beach where the children will be able to buy ice cream and enjoy playing on the sand, while the staff enjoy their free ice cream from the lovely man in the shop.
